I'm 6'3'' and 200 lb and 3 years on primal diet. I want to try to get rid of my lower belly fat and love handles, so I guess I have to take care about calories. I calculated using Exrx.net calculator, and it says that I need
3300 (2000 BMR and 1300 for activity)
Does this number make any sense? If yes, how big deficit should I have in order to cut weight? 300 calories less per/day?
I would start with a deficit of 500 calories per day.
This will equate to a loss of 1LB per week.
The alternative is a caloric deficit of 250 calories and 250 calories of extra exercise.
I would give it 6 weeks and then re-assess your BMR.
How primal are you? 80/20? 60/40? That's probably more important than how many calories you consume.
This. Remember that Primal foods are more nutrient dense than SAD foods. All those charts telling you how many calories you supposedly *need* are made by, for and about SAD eaters. Your true Primal caloric need may be lower. Experiment a little and see what happens.
