Thread: I.F. question! page

    I.F. question!

    So this morning at around 10 I thought I would surprise myself and IF lunch. I was kinda going back and forth about it around 11:30, so I decided to eat the organic apple that I brought to the office.
    ( I wasn't truly hungry, just massively bored at the office)

    The apple was delicious, and I remained unhungry, so I went ahead with the IF. My question is, is this a true IF if I ate an apple? Am I not receiving the benefits of IF because my body is still digesting food, even if it was a small amount?

    Im not too worried, I feel like I listened to my body and its 3 pm now and I feel good. But, If anyone can shed any light on this question, I still am kinda curious.

    ( I am getting excited for dinner though.....oven-roasted pork chops, yams, and lots of spinach salad.

    IF is the total absent from calories in at least a 16 hour period.

    I wouldn't say it necessarily has to be 16 hours; more like 8, depending on your previous meal. But, yeah, calories = broken fast, technically. You can still enjoy the benefits of caloric restriction, of course.

    There are many versions of IF. You don't get zero benefits from fasting if you have a calorie in there somewhere. Would be better without, but you are still giving your system a break from working. It's like oxygen. You get it whether you take a deep breath or a shallow one, even if a deep breath is better. It's like being primal. You get some benefit on a sliding scale from 100% compliant to whatever % you happen to be at. You don't get no benefits if you are only 80% complaint. <shrug> I have coffee with HWC every morning. Often only one meal per day otherwise. Sometimes two. Sure, I'd probably have even better results if I gave up the HWC w/ my coffee, or the coffee altogether. But, I'm happy with what I've got so far.

    oh, and I love my HWC. Its the only thing ive put in my coffee, long before I became primal too. And, yes, nice "bum"----havnt heard that word since soccer practice with all the trainers from the UK!

    I'm working on it, though! With bacon and Primal, I'll get as close as I physically can.

    I agree. You'll definitely reap the benefits and live a longer fuller life from caloric restriction alone. However, as previously mentioned, calories equals no fast. But if we're talking a tea with nothing in it, or a black coffee, you'll still be fasting.
