Help a newbie? Carb cheating experience?
I have done this only for 8 days...
After 7 days, I felt great, lost 5 pounds (I could lose 20)...I kept track of all my food using Fit Bit...
About 18% carb- 65% fats and the rest protein....
Had a dinner party and cheated and had dessert- ice cream and cake-
next day, gained 4 back!
Interestingly was SUPER THIRSTY.
Did I undo all my work??

No. And what if I said yes? Would you just pack it in? Be as primal as you can be. Or don't.
One more thing, daily weight deviations are not an indicator of success or failure.
By going low carb for a week, you lost 5lbs of water. By eating high carb again, you regained water. No big deal.
By the way, why do you call it a "cheat" ? because you consider it pseudo-food only or against the primal rules ? Loosen up
Eat what you want. You now know that real foods is good and processed junk is not so, but if you have to have some junk, enjoy it!
You didn't cheat. You lived a little. Having a dessert every so often is good. Don't forget, this isn't a diet, its a lifestyle.

I think after reading the 21 day book, I was afraid that 'cheating' and having a bunch of sweets would undo something that is suposed to happen for the 21 days.
I fully intend to keep this up- I feel great and it all makes sense.

We all slide back a little from time to time. That is where the 80/20 thing comes in.

In the next few days you will re-lose the water.
Try figuring out your body fat percent to track the weight you really would like to lose.
Then a couple of pounds of water weight lost or gained here and there won't be a big deal any more.
