    So apparently Dr. Oz (a board certified physician) had previously been recommending "candy bars" to his patients for their "good health"

    It would have been better if they had given them a sandwich rather than plain bread. The butter etc would probably have reduced the glucose spike somewhat, which is what the fats and nuts in the bar probably did. Not the most scientific of tests

    I can think of a lot of things that could have been changed to mitigate the results. But then they wouldn't have answered the question of whether bread raises blood glucose more than a candy bar or not.

    Starch is always more glycemic than sugar, dunno why people are continually shocked by this.

    But if the information is valid, relevant and as close to the truth that we may know to be true....shouldn't we at least give it an honest "hear them out"?
