IMO, I would try to change the mindset that you need to eat 5 or 6 times daily to keep yourself from going hungry. Also, I'd be careful that you're not overtraining....going from presumably no exercise to crossfit 3x weekly plus workouts in between might have sent your body into shock...kind of like it might be saying "WTF!!!! I need to keep every bit of energy I'm getting to sustain this new level of activity."
