Yeah, ever since the sugar bugs moved in it's been nasty around here.
Steak, eggs, potatoes - fruits, nuts, berries and forage. Coconut milk and potent herbs and spices. Tea instead of coffee now and teeny amounts of kelp daily. Let's see how this does! Not really had dairy much, and gut seems better for it.

Going LC does not work for everyone, Knifegill.

So someone who says to increase carbs is a sugar bug? Interesting.

    Yep.

Also, I feel the VLC and the Paleo people have that rebellious attitude towards CW. CW may have many things wrong, but not everything. IMO it's better to pick and choose what to apply from each method, rather than look at nutrition and fitness only as a black or white thing.
Personally I rather enjoy my high carb low-fat real foods diet. Excellent results too.

OP: stop eating nuts. I never lose weight on nuts even though they are my favorite thing to eat. Eat more meat/seafood. You aren't getting enough protein.

I think higher carb is okay for people who are very active or have low leptin levels to begin with. However, in general a low carb high fat is sound advice as the first thing to try...

HCLF: lean red meat, eggs, low-fat dairy, bone broth/gelatin, fruits, seafood, liver, small amount of starch (oatmeal, white rice, potatoes, carrots), small amount of saturated fat (butter/ghee/coconut/dark chocolate/cheese).

I would say: keep current menu minus nuts/fruits, add more meats of every kind. Keep low carb for another month or so at the very least and add in weight lifting and walking if you can, if not play more with your kids.

If after a month you feel lethargic or any other LC symptoms, add some carbs in form of fruit, sweet potatoes, etc on the days you are more active and see if that changes anything for the positive.
