Pre-paleo, I ate many carbs but zero refined sugar or sweet things.

I went paleo, and had the most extreme sugar cravings i've ever felt!

this seems explainable when you understand that any carbs, be it pasta, table sugar, potatos etc, basically all get turned into glucose. I'm guessing my body wanted glucose and probably knew enacting sugar cravings would be the easiest way to get me to ingest some glucose.

satiety sure seems to help in curbing any sweet desires.
