I started my quest for health back in 2008 when weighing 243lb, I'm 5.10. Since that time I have had peaks and troughs; current weight 186.2. where I seem to be stuck. My body seems to be telling me that the next issue I need to deal with is Red Wine. On average 3/5 glasses a day, after that it's cheese and crackers 3 times a week.

    Here goes.

I agree. Wine has been an issue for me in the past. I have stopped it, due to my commitment to weight loss, and the fact that I am sensitive to it will give me an incentive not to drink much of it in the future.

My body gives me clear signals not to consume a lot of stuff that isn't all that good for me. It must be hard for people who don't get punished after misbehavior.

No wine may need to be my next frontier. I usually drink 2-4 glasses per night. Recently I have been going for 2-4 days without any. I feel like should doa 30 day stretch. I want to see if avoiding wine improves my sleep.

Wine was a huge weakness for me. I didn't drink a lot, but I sure did like a glass after a long day of work. I've stopped buying it and just purchase it on "special occasions" (like if I make a super-fancy dinner for me and hubby). I drink a nice herbal tea now in the evenings, and that's been a nice substitute.

couldnt you lose the crackers? - empty grain based carbs after all, replace them with a bit of ham or apple. you could reduce the wine to 1 or water it.

For wine, I have at most one bottle a week (forced to by finances as well as a finger-wagging spouse). It's an interesting thing to be weighing up - a second glass tonight, or save it for later in the week? I got an antique sherry glass for when I wanted a bit but not a full wineglass.

And yet there are some really lean people who drink wine whaaaaaaaaat. The answer is more exercise.
