Cool Iron Chef Seafood Curry (FTW)

    Primal Fuel
This was posted in my Journal, but DR said it was, "brilliant", so I am copying it here ;-)
Serves two, or one person two times...

    Seafood Curry!

An entire bag of Trader Joe's Mixed Seafood (shrimp, scallops and calamari rings), 1 pound, thawed
1/2 red bell pepper, thin slices
    handful of parsley, chopped
1" section ginger root, finely chopped
    1/2 cup heavy cream
    1-2 T. butter
    1 tsp curry powder
garlic powder, red chile powder, pepper and salt to taste
    ----------------------------------
Melt the butter in a saute pan; add ginger root and curry powder, cook briefly over low heat. Add cream and stir. While keeping mixture just below a boil, add seafood blend and stir until shrimp start to turn pink. Add peppers, cook briefly. When shrimp are just done, add parsley and remove from heat.

Thanks for posting this. It's nice to see a variation on seafood curry using cream instead of the traditional coconut. Sounds very tasty - will need to add some peppers for spice though - :-)

    nutty,

I actually used a BUNCH of red chili powder, but I agree that a nice Serrano chopped up and added with the ginger would be a wonderful thing.

Sounds soo good! I can just imagine it over a big bowl of spinach and other hearty greens! My grandmother used to make curried shrimp, but in a white sauce with curry powder, and I do miss it, but this sounds like it could very well take the place of Gram's curry! Just have to add some sauteed criminis to it!
