    I have a vinyl graphics/sign business on the side. Designs like these are made from scanning and then converting into Vector outlines---basicly just a drawing that the computer and an attached plotter(essentially a printer with a blade that cuts the design out of adhesive vinyl) reads as a mathematical direction and guidance of the blade.
