    Muscle soreness + water retention

    Just a quick question - I have read that after doing a weights session your body can retain water in the muscles as part of their repair process. If my muscles are hurting from a workout (DOMS), is that a sign that I'm probably also retaining water?

    I did a new weight routine with my personal trainer two days ago and I'm STILL feeling it!

    Yes, micro tears in the muscle fascia and connective tissue are filled up with water, and due to stress from the training, dieting, certain foods, lack of sleep, hormonal fluctuations etc., you can also get accumulated subcutaneous water that may mask fat loss or provoke a fake weight gain...
