The worst is when they try to make something "gluten free" for me but I know they've probably contaminated it so I can't eat it. They leave me alone after that. Celiac sucks.

Gosh, yes. It's not the thought that counts, people.

Or when they think you don't eat bread because you're avoiding carbs and then mockingly point out you're eating carbs cos you served yourself a potato...

Uninformed in laws who swear that they made a GF Mac and cheese for your children and then say 'wait, macaroni has gluten in it?"
-> Insert crying child here <-

Or the other in law who offered to bring a GF dessert to a family dinner, pulls out rice crispy treats with frosting and malt balls on top. Ugh

Both incidents at the same meal and they wonder why I am hesitant to bring my family over for dinner!

Or the in-laws want to make an at home pretzel kit IN YOUR KITCHEN and you have to tell them they can't. A dietitian should know better than to even ask that (or send the kit to your non-celaic SO).

This happens to me constantly! Especially if I'm eating a piece of fruit!

Today at school drop off all the teachers were standing in the parking lot handing out coffee and these big chocolate biscotti pastries to all the parents (they said it was parent appreciation day ). They were standing out in the rain doing this and I felt so bad for them, I didn't have the heart to say no. I don't even drink coffee ugh, lol. Brought it home and dumped the coffee and gave the biscotti to my 4 yr old son, who did appreciate it lol.
