Primal Antipasto platter!
Anyone care to share their most primal antipasto ideas? I'm going to a party tonight and plan on bringing some yummy meats, olives, etc...
Roasted and peeled sweet peppers with garlic in olive oil. Maybe some fresh mozzarella in there too.
Not sure how authentic this is but my favorite Italian place in town does walnut-stuffed mushrooms, and cold mussels dressed in artichoke/mascarpone spread.
Caprese salad. Slice of tomato with a slice of mozzarella on top plus a sprig of fresh basil. Then a grind of black pepper and a drizzle of olive oil over the whole platter.
tuna tartare servered on cucumber slices
chorizo and lamb merguez sausages with dijon aioli
sliced duck breast wrapped and skewered around shaved fennel italian parsley and oragnes
capreses as mentioned before, use buffalo mozzarella instead to make it even better
Prosciutto, thinly sliced hard salami or pepperoni, giardiniera, roasted peppers, marinated artichoke hearts, fresh mozz, Parmesano Reggiano, Kalamata olives and some kind of small oily fish.
"Right is right, even if no one is doing it; wrong is wrong, even if everyone is doing it." - St. Augustine
Who says back fat is a bad thing? Maybe on a hairy guy at the beach, but not on a crab.
