Thoughts on L-Glutamine Powder?
I did a little bit of research before purchasing l-glutamine capsules a few months ago. I got them to support lean body mass retention and to assist in my horrible nighttime sugar/carb cravings. I also began taking BCAAs at the same time, but less often than the l-glut. It kind of seemed that the capsules were doing nothing for me, so once the bottle was out, I stopped taking them for a while, and slacked off on my BCAAs, too.
About a month later (now), I'm noticing that it's taking a lot longer for me to recover on my heavy lifting days than it used to. I am guessing that it might be the fact that I stopped taking both the l-glut. caps and the BCAAs, but I am not an expert on things like this, so I'm not really sure if that's the case, or if it's all in my head. I still have some BCAAs, and started taking them again.
I did some more research though, and noticed that the l-glut. is much more efficient when you take it in powder form, right under the tongue. I've started doing that since just yesterday, and I think that my sugar cravings actually have been reduced....
Does anyone have any experience with either/both of these supplements? Is there any horrible reason I shouldn't be taking these supplements that I'm completely unaware of? I'd love to hear anyone else's experience with this stuff, and any advice/tips/warnings/opinions, as well. Thanks so much everyone
Glutamine powders absorb faster than capsules but under your tongue not at all unless its liquid. BCAA's are the building blocks of protein. It's best to take them at night when your body releases the most amount of growth hormone. Glutamine is good before and after your workout to help eliminate lactate aka lactic acid.

I have experience with L-glut but not for reasons you're interested in (gut healing).
It should be taken on an empty stomach. Otherwise it competes with other amino acids for absorption. As for negative reactions, I've not had any nor have I heard of others having any issues.
Thanks, guys. I didn't want to be doing my body more harm than good with stuff that's supposed to make me feel better!
