    5 hour energy rant

    Primal Fuel
Is it me or is anyone else sick to death of all the 5 hour energy commercials all ready. If I see that putz on tv claiming how 5 hour energy is better then coffee because it has vitamins and nutrients I'm gonna puke. Last time I checked coffee is something that is real and found in nature I don't recall hearing tales of our ancestors gathering to kick back enenergy shots. Maybe if this country wasn't so fat and lazy from eating healthy foods like rice cakes and foot long subs with less then 6 grams of fat we wouldn't need energy shots. As far as 5 hour energy what vitamins and nutrients does it really have. Fruity Pebbles have vitamins and nutrients so I guess they are healthy. And one final thing , coffee tastes really good. People sit back and enjoy a nice hot cup,of coffee. It is much more enjoyable then a shot of chemical stimulant garbage in a little plastic bottle

    +1!

I was a the YMCA when some old dude (sorry old dudes) asks me if I use the stuff, and goes on to tell me how great it is. I'm like naw...I drink a couple cups of coffee a day and thats it. I really didn't wanna wreck his high though so I just left it at that.

I've never seen those commercials. I don't have a television. I recommend it highly.

Caffeine can be purchased in bulk from amazon.com.

I, too, have never seen, or heard, any commercials.

    I don't like coffee, either.

I've seen the commercials unfortunately and I agree with the rant.
People are just dumb these days and the trend is toward even more dumbness.

The 5 hour energy is terrible! Before we went primal, hubby had one to help him stay awake while driving one evening and crashed so hard from it when he got home that he started crying. NEVER AGAIN!

Those 5 hour energy shots do nothing, less caffeine than a regular cup of coffee with some synthetic b vitamins that are poorly absorbed.

When I need to pound down shots of caffeine, I just shoot espressos

Maybe they do nothing b/c your body is more used to those espresso shots? Caffeine is an addictive substance. After a while you have to take in more and more to get the same "hit"/high

I used to be a pot a day drinker of coffee and it was really nice for the most part.

But I found my addiction to be a bit too strong, and I felt weaker and less energized without it, or I would randomly crash after a long shift at work, and cease to complete anything during the day.

I stick to tea now and it is much better, I can go without it and not have to deal with "caffeine headaches". I prefer it's effects over coffee. Of course though, I will reserve coffee for those late night highway drives when I am nodding off...that is when some serious stimulant is needed.

edit: almost forgot to mention Yerba Mate!

Its like halfway between coffee and tea, but very bitter. I really like that too, but I have heard something about it being carcinogenic...meh. I can easily go through a Kilo of the stuff in a few short weeks.

    I recommend less TV.

I don't see those commercials except once in a blue moon, because I don't have the TV on.

I like 1-2 cups of coffee per day from good, high quality espresso roast beans(locally roasted).
It's good for my happiness and satisfaction meter.

And that's why I'm here eating HFLC Primal/Paleo.
