How to get started with fermenting veg in the UK

    Hello,

I probably should learn to ferment vegetables, but I don't know where to buy the proper equipment/supplies from. I know that culturesforhealth is simple and easy, but they aren't in the UK. Amazon? Great, but the postal charge is almost the price of the fermentation pot. We Brits really aren't up for experimenting with food, are we?

You don't need anything to get started apart from some glass jars with rubber seals (brands inc Kilner and Le Parfait), which you can buy from any department store with a homeware section or kitchen supplies shop (I'm sure Lakeland do them).

I make my own sauerkraut...and I'd agree that you don't need anything apart from jars. I don't even use rubber seals....I use my old coconut oil jars.
