Um...you don't have to give up potatoes, chocolate, coffee, or carbs...those all fit into the primal plan in moderation.
You don't have to give up your beer either, unless you have to because of a sensitivity to wheat. There's a bit of wiggle room for everything, you just have to decide how much wiggle too to give yourself that will still allow you to reach your health goals.
And unless I haven't made myself clear...
Primal is NOT low carb!!!!
