ALso there are different kinds of kale. Dino kale is one kind. Curly kale is the kind that comes chopped and washed in bags at TJ's (or maybe Siberian, not sure). Purple kale straddles the border between edible and ornamental. They all have different flavors.

I throw kale or chard into any dish that I'm making that involves chopped up veggies. The other veggies hide the taste of the kale. That said I looooveeeee kale chips so I don't mind the flavor of kale that much. Agree with whoever said discard the stems - put them in your compost pile.

I take my three quart pan with steamer, chop half a sweet onion into strips and toss into the steamer, cut up a few carrots and toss on top of the onions, and rip the kale leaves off the stems and fill the rest of the steamer with kale. I steam it until the kale looks bright green, dump on a plate, fresh lemon juice, olive oil, salt, pepper, crumbled bacon, whatever, any combo.

Steaming with the sweet onion and carrot seems to cut most of the kale funk and preserves most of the nutrition.

Trader Joe's also carries frozen kale!

Kale Chips are awesome. If you have a Vitamix or Blendtech, cutting the Kale with banana and blueberries in a green smoothie with coconut milk works too. My favorite "normal" way to cook Kale (or any other green for that matter) is sauteed with garlic, vinegar, and red pepper:

Guys I just figured out how to eat kale!

It can be hidden in fruit smoothies . Throw a handfull into your blender with a banana, apple, and some blueberries. Can't taste a thing!
Stumbled into Primal due to food allergies, and subsequent elimination of non-primal foods.

I tried to make kale chips once; I believe singed parchment paper may have the same flavor. I probably did it wrong. We do not have Trader Joe's in Canada, sad face. I like the idea of steamed kale.

Some people are too funny on here, makes me smile.
