Losing weight, but body fat % is staying the same

    Shop Now
    Okay guys,

So i need a bit of help here. I have gone from 215 before christmas to around 188 at the moment, so i'm only maybe 3lbs away from my fighting weight, but I still have a load of belly fat, but i'm eating primally and doing all the exercise that I feel is right.

    Anyone got any hints/tips advice?

    Weights?
Disclaimer: I eat 'meat and vegetables' ala Primal, although I don't agree with the carb curve. I like Perfect Health Diet and WAPF Lactofermentation a lot.

heavy weight lifting, sprints, caloric deficit, good carb refeed and IF would trim your belly fat (been there myself).

You can read with interest pklopp's posts about IF. It helps changing body composition, not necessarily body weight. You're after body fat loss, not muscle loss, are you ?

Just posted these on another thread, but will repeat in case they're useful!

Lack Of Sleep Can Make Dieters Lose Muscle Instead Of Fat

I recommend as much sleep as possible because it's what works for me personally - it's actually more important for me for fatloss than exercise. YMMV, of course.

If your weight is reducing but your bodyfat is staying the same, then presumably you're losing muscle.

I'd say lift weights and eat more protein.

^^ This. Also, if you are doing chronic cardio for weight loss, cut it out.

What constitutes chronic cardio? Would 45 minutes on an elliptical at low speed but high resistance be too much per day?

getting enough sleep, doing IF, not doing chronic cardio, lifting weights, and i'm on a caloric deficit, and not losing muscle, because of the fact that i'm having over my 1g per lb of lean body mass, so i think maybe I just have to give it time and ride it out.
