Corn is a grain and vegetable oil is a no-no too. A rare indulgence won't make you grow two heads or anything.
My parents recently purchased a bag of Organic White Corn Tortilla Chips from Trader Joe's and I was wondering is it primal?
The ingredients are White Corn, Lime, Vegetable Oil, and Salt.
I know that flour is and grains are bashed, but what about these tasty chips?

If you want to indulge in chips, Terra chips are made of root veggies. Only problem with them are the oils they're cooked in, but otherwise they're pretty Primal.

My experience with corn chips of any kind is that they are quite addicting! So even if u indulge as a cheat, beware, as u might end up eating the whole bag before you know it!
Corn - no go
Vege oil - no go
Lime - yes
Salt - yes
I guess you can only lick the surface of the chips, haha...

Haha, the comments are cracking me up--tortilla chips are one of my biggest obstacles, too (I have three amazing and authentic Mexican restaurants in close proximity). These chips are a grain-based food like any other, so just think of it like a piece of toast or something and make your decision that way, dependant on your needs and goals.
Personally I've been allowing a few here and there when I go out, but I KNOW "a few" is way more than I think and as of this week I'm pretty much cut off. Besides, I'd rather just have the guac on a pile of carne asada and grilled veggies![]()
lots of lit out there on the cancer causing effects of vegetable/seed oils that most chips are fried in. and corn is not primal.
