    Marrow...

    Shop Now
I got a bunch of marrow bones from my butcher and am thinking id like to do something different with the marrow besides the usual bone broth.
Any suggestions? can you just scoop the marrow out or is there a better way to remove from the bones?
How do you cook it? Can you just slice the marrow & fry it?

Roast the bones in the oven and then scoop the marrow out with a small spoon. Marrow is almost pure fat. It's like beef flavored butter. I don't think it would fry too well. More like melt.

After you are done slurping out the last of the marrow, the bones are still good for making broth.

    You're welcome.
Sweet Marrow Custard with Vanilla Bean

I've made it and it's freaking delicious! Next time my farmer is in town, I'm gonna splurge on some more bones. Maybe I'll get some pastured eggs, too.

How long and at what temperature do you roast them? I just got some this morning and I was also thinking I wanted to do something other than bone broth.

    Thanks!

Roasted Marrow Bones Recipe : Food Network Kitchens : Recipes : Food Network

That says to spread it on bread, but I eat mine with a spoon. If the spoon doesn't reach because the bone narrrows, I either use a butter knife, or my finger.
