    Charlie Horses?

my cousin recently went primal, and i can usually answer her questions on my own, but this one has me stumped...

does anyone ever get charlie horses (not sure what they might be called outside the US, but it's kind of an intense tightening of a muscle where it feels like someone is trying to push a golf ball under your skin) and notice it as a result of being primal? i've never experienced that.
i figured it could be the result of a micronutrient deficiency, but i figured i would throw it out to the tribe.

Cramps? Feel like death? Magnesium fixed mine. I take about 400mg a day of mag citrate.
Steak, eggs, potatoes - fruits, nuts, berries and forage. Coconut milk and potent herbs and spices. Tea instead of coffee now and teeny amounts of kelp daily. Let's see how this does! Not really had dairy much, and gut seems better for it.

that's what i recommended, along with some ocean foods and making sure she's getting some sodium and potassium

I got them most when using a faux-salt at work. I'd wake up at night with a terrible cramp in my leg. Those are potassium based. Those kinds of cramps are linked to issues with electrolytes, so make sure you are covering all bases and they are not going too light or too heavy with real salt.
