Could it be from lowered blood pressure? One nickname for dandelion is piss weed or something, right?

Yep! I mean, I know my own yard and that's where I would pick from, not a random place. Just because you never know what's been sprayed. I've used the leaves in salad and love them, too!

Are dandelions really that nutritious? I never knew. What nutrients do they contain? With spring coming my yard is going to be filled with dandelions, I might have to give 'em a try!

What parts are safe? Should any be avoided?

This for the greens, which I eat, too! Dandelion herb nutrition facts and health benefits

Scour the web, there's tons of info out there about dandelion. Never buy greens again!
Steak, eggs, potatoes - fruits, nuts, berries and forage. Coconut milk and potent herbs and spices. Tea instead of coffee now and teeny amounts of kelp daily. Let's see how this does! Not really had dairy much, and gut seems better for it.

The entire plant is edible. The flowers can be fried, like mushrooms. The leaves are good in salad. The root, when roasted, is used as a coffee substitute.

On the bright side, it grows like a weed (haha) in our yard.

I just eat the flowers on a non-stop basis. Handfull after handfull. Love the soft, buttery texture and earthy, bitter flavor. The leaves and root are definitely better cooked, but I have often eaten a few raw leaves if I'm out on a walk or something and see some nice, dark huge ones.

One of our local grocery stores carry dandelion greens on occasion, in the spring and early summer. My postage stamp sized yard really doesn't produce enough to make a meal, so I've bought them on occasion. I blanch them and then saute them in a little olive oil with garlic. Pretty good.
