Previously I have been okay with slow weight loss and healing but now..
I have won a scholarship to Florence Italy for a month!! (yay).
Previously I have been okay with slow weight loss ( I only weigh every six months at a doctors visit)and healing but now I will be heading into an Italian summer and am worried that the heat may knock me around and spoil my time there.
I am eating a 80/20 diet with very little exercise. I am 48 y/o Female 155 cm and 83 kgs (183 lbs OMG I HAVE NOT CONVERTED THAT BEFORE ).
I have flirted with the idea of EAT MORE FAT but counting calories is too much like a diet and I fear will undo all the good mental work that PB has achieved.
So any advice???
cut your portions and start moving more!!! walk, bike, or dance. Do something you enjoy - something fun! and lean more towards 100%. Throw out the crap oils, sugar and all grains.
Now - if I could only take my own advice........... I too am 183 pounds - 5'3" (whatever that is in cm?) and I'm getting within spitting distance of my 53rd birthday. UGH!

Thanks Tomi, I don't eat grains,sugar or crap oils so that leaves 100% and moving I guess!

I second the move to going 100%.
Eat fat, protein, and non-starchy vegetables to satiety three times a day and WALK YOUR ASS OFF.
Florence is a great place to do that ass walking too. Though Florentine cuisine might be a real problem.

Croak I am a little worried that Italian food may sabotage me which is another reason to be in tip top shape before going I figure it will be easier to stay true to the cause then.
Ah, Italian food. Are you aware that Italians eat more vegetables and salads than Americans do, and serve pasta in small portions? And they are very celiac aware.

Actually, I have. But it was before I went gluten-free. I recall eating real food in restaurants where no one spoke much English, not giant portions of pasta. But I'm sure those would be readily available for Americans who expect it and eat in restaurants geared for them.

Get yourself some dining cards that describe your dietary limitations. Celiac diagnosis is very common in Italy now. They will know what the word means.
