Odd, really? Have you looked inside any PC bang near you?

I'd rather be obsessed with science than with Lineage.

    Yes, really.

I'm not saying Americans are aware they are obsessed with science, people aren't normally aware of their culture.

Scientific method is means for discovering the natural world. Like any tool it can be misused. It's not that they may "worship" science, it's more that they adhere to Scientism.
Scientism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
    Glossary Definition: Scientism
Would I be putting a grain-feed cow on a fad diet if I took it out of the feedlot and put it on pasture eating the grass nature intended?

Interesting, I don't think I've ever used the word "scientism". I meet a lot of people in the East who adhere to Intuitionism.

"Scientism is a term used to refer to belief in the universal applicability of the scientific method and approach, and the view that empirical science constitutes the most authoritative worldview or most valuable part of human learning to the exclusion of other viewpoints."

^ That's what I do all day working with financial models, wow I guess I'm a scientist!

I'd thus like to have "Grand Wizard" added to my business card, we do tricks like making money disappear.
