I am currently researching road bikes to purchase. What is your fav brand and why? Any tips on things I should look for?

    I have a Specialized and a GT.

I would recommend Specialized but hit up your local bike shop and go for some test rides and see what fits you the best. Each brand seems to fit a little different.

I will most likely go for a good used bike, so nothing outrageous.

If you are going to do any significant mileage then make sure that the geometry of the frame suits you....just a few cm's of extra reach can make a huge difference to your back/hip health.
