Tramping day again. Four hours through sun, wind and rain. With a little bit of snow to be found along the way. Delicious.

Now that sounds lovely! We were in the upper 30's today and it was hot and blustery and plain yuk! Your walk sounds lovely! Do you take pictures of the scenery? Do you live in the country so you have easy access to wilderness for walking?

Yesterday's weather ranged 10-17C according to the met office, but I'm sure it was lower where I was since it is elevated. Yes I do take pictures, yesterday I forgot my camera so borrowed from a friend. However she is not technologically inclined and is more likely to send me the prints than digital files .

I live in town, but it's only 30 minutes' drive to my nearest national park with loads of tracks ideal for hiking. Yesterday we did a one-way journey because our friend was happy to drop us off at one point and pick us up at another exit. That's why the weather changed as we went, started out fine but we walked into the cloud and rain as the day went on. Makes life interesting

We have a beautiful coastal walkway too, but my friends prefer the mountain so that's where we usually go.

I made my first batch of cottage cheese today. It was remarkably simple to do, and the result is edible though somewhat less than exciting.

On my initial attempt, I was discouraged that I could not seem to be able to make milk curdle by heating then adding vinegar. But I heated it quite a bit more and suddenly - curds!

Then simply strain and go out for a few hours so as not to be tempted to interfere while the whey drains off and return to find white cheese. It was extremely bland so added salt and spice half, herbs to the other half. This did not beef up the flavour much, I hope it might be stronger tomorrow.

All in all, a worthwhile experiment.
