I'm so sorry for your loss. I haven't lost a pet to an accident since I was 4yo but I can only imagine how traumatic it is.

We have one little kitty girl who nearly trips you dashing out any open door. Fortunately, she keeps to the backyard and is satisfied with an hour or two. I do worry something interesting will cause her to wander out toward the road. Thankfully, the other 4 seem to be content inside.

I'm very sorry for your loss, Jen...sounds like your Charlie was a wonderful companion. Touches on a point of worry here too, as mine always insist on being let outside and we're 50 yards from a very busy street. My most depressing evening this past year was spent retrieving a young cat who'd just been struck there & died from massive head injury, then going door-to-door asking my neighbors if he had belonged to anyone. Finally concluded he was feral/stray, but still...

Sorry for your loss. I lost my dog Bender in December. He was my best friend and not a day goes by that I don't grieve for him. He was only 7. I do understand your pain.

Thanks guys. Cantare that is what happened Charlie and the wee woman who found him was about to go around all the doors until a vet stopped in her car and scooped him back to her practice. I am so thankful for good Samaritans like yourself. Without you Charlie would have spent his last moments alone and hurting. Instead he was made comfortable and he slipped away with me and RuthGV talking into his wee ear and stroking his wee body.

EagleRiverDee I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm sure it still feels very raw.
