It is a vegan myth based on wishful thinking that people need hardly any protein to survive. I've never seen it recommended before that people should just cut way back on all their food though.

Yum, look at all that good-for-you protein!

I didn't say don't eat meat. I said better to buy organic meat and eat less meat than eat a bunch of that ^

    Truth. You can't handle it.

This protein could be good for you, though. http://www.grass-fed-eggs.com/grass-fed-hens.jpg

At least I have a grasp of reality, instead of going to a paleo forum and telling people who don't need to lose weight that they should go on a starvation diet.

You told ME to. Told me to eat a third the meat and half everything else. That's a starvation diet.

Good for me? I'm allergic to eggs. I can only eat one once in a while.

I told you it's better to eat less organic meat than to eat more factory-farmed meat. Not sure where you got the idea you should halve the rest of your caloric intake. How about eating more eggs? Organic eggs are cheap.

EDIT - Guess not. I guess you can't eat the humanely treated hens either?

Now that my wages are higher than last year, I can afford buying local sources of meat. Yes, the cost is 20-50% higher. But I also eat lots of potatoes now, so my intake of meat went down.

Most of the meat I buy from local farmers is offal. Probably not the best way to get quality types of protein, but it'll do every once in a while. Offal definitely tastes better pastured than regular, too.

I buy a lot of conventionally raised pork sirloin for a good amount of my regular meat consumption, which is cheap where I am, and gets my protein to levels that I want.

Chinese grocers are the best places to buy fresh fish, which has a fair amount of protein as well.
