i normally just eat it because i like it like that and dont stress about bad bacteria. you can make a cerviche. just google some recipes. these often get done with seafood. or you could do kitfo which isnt marinated but tastes good.
I'd like to eat raw meat more often now and I do like the taste of it just plain with sea salt but I'm looking for a marinade that will not just taste good but also kill any bad bacteria? Right now I have a glass container with sliced top sirloin marinating in lime juice.
Does anyone have a special mix?
or any go-to easy marinades?
Thanks![]()

I'll look that up. thanks!
I'm not too worried about bacteria, I think it's something important that's missing in this society, but I don't want anything very harmful to get ingested that's a result of some unnatural practices with the meat processing from the farm I get it from.
We have to be a little careful these days.
Look up some recipes for carpaccio and see if any appeal.

oh great thanks
Lea and perrins, whilst not strictly primal, is excellent with raw meat and will kill bacteria. Bacon, as a cured meat, is also fine to eat raw -- the brave man's parma ham!Mmm!
I just eat mine plain. Cheap mince, liver, chicken, steak, chops... Anything. Haven't got ill from it yet.![]()
I rarely talk to people about Paleo/Primal, but, when I do, it's when they're NOT complaining about their weight or health.
You see, I don't really "do" pity. And one thing I've learned about people is that they're more open to suggestion when they're happy and stable. When they complain they only ever want pity, not to be advised.
You can't kill bacteria without cooking the meat. Acids like vinegar will retard growth, but you're not planning on keeping it. I eat it with a dressing made of homemade mayonnaise and sriracha.
eKatherine and Bifcus ~ Mayo dressing is sounding very good! Mayo with raw meat I haven't tried before so that will be interesting.
eKatherine do you marinate it with your mayo dressing or just add to it when your about to eat it? If you use it as marinade, what's the longest you would marinate it for?
I just eat it. I also use mayo mixed with mustard and horseradish.
I don't care for marinades. I'm a dry rub kind of girl.
I love raw meat (ground is my fav) but I only do it with meat I get from my butcher. I trust it and I know where it came from. Usually I opt for dry spices (being that I'm mixing it into ground meat.) Cumin, garlic, paprika, onion, salt... or I have a really yummy "Cajun" blend that I like. Has red and black pepper in it.
