    Hmmm...I think it probably has more to do with coordination and "getting the hang of it" than core strength. I can't figure out why I can't do it in the other direction!

    Re OJ--I know Peat recommends straining, but, man, the pulp is the best part of orange juice. When I used to buy OJ, I'd always get it with extra pulp.

    When I was first on the site, I got into some lengthy (no surprise! it's a big topic) exchanges w/ other folks trying to self-diag and treat gut issues. I'd had this weird, fine textured change in the skin tone of my forehead. No CW fixes helped but then a facialist I know mentioned that chinese medicine considers the forehead reflective of gut & intestinal health. That led me to a couple books which I can't find on my book shelf now but later today I'll dig them outta my other bookshelf and send you the link to what helped me.

    Mmm... yuou could be right. And totally agree on the OJ I'm not following the protocol yet, but I will (when I'm not so lazy about food. Right now exercise is taking all my precedence).

    Body

    I'm really bloated right now, and my measuring tape is showing half an inch gain, but my clothes are fitting waaaay better. I know it's superficial, but it's so nice to finally be able to wear cool outfits again. I love dressing to express, and my wardrobe was so limited with the extra weight.

    AND - today I noticed that my lower abs are starting to pop! I can't believe it. I haven't even been focusing on my core, but it looks like I'm on the way to a six pack!

    Food

    Appetite finally kicked back in today - woke up famished and ate like a Viking! Put away at least 3K cals today, including three melons, 600gs cottage cheese, half a block of emmental cheese, one mozzarella ball (even went for some olive oil on it ) and some halloumi cheese. Talk about Peat-tastic!

    It felt really good to eat all that food though. Today I lifted weights, swam, and played tennis. I do a similar level of activity most days now, so logically I feel I need the calories, and it confuses me when I'm not hungry. Not complaining though - just this is very, very interesting. I can't even believe I used to have an ED that was ruling (and ruining) my life.

    Life is like a Novel

    Today, I felt a little bit sad because of what I perceive as yet another disappointment in my love life. However, I've had this revelation that life is like a novel, and when chapters end you've got to let them go immediately, because otherwise you prevent yourself from writing the next one. The important thing with life is not to grasp it, to let it flow, and try to write the best novel that you can. Who's to say who will enter and exit chapters, and when. Life is not linear: a chapter doesn't begin or end with time: it begins or ends with thoughts. But the only way to keep your novel going, is to continue to keep living: to give yourself to every experience, and to make life your lover.

    Great! I've bought some cheap isopropyl to clean it with as I intend to use it 3 times a week. I'm looking at Vitamin E cream for collagen and scarring/ I'm not really sure what copper peptides do. (any risk of copper toxins though?) I'm sure Derpamix will write about some of this so see which look best. Vit E just seems more natural to me, but I don't know anything about peptides.

    Let me know how your derma experience goes!

    Yeah, it's recommended to strain the pulp so your gut has less fibre to deal with. You know, one poster here described Ray Peat as "diet rehab", and I think he's right!

    Where did you buy that isopropyl dude?

    Yeah, you can read about Copper peptides in Derps journal - we all posted some links. It's actually recommended to use them after rolling. And I think they help with scarring! They're expensive but I found some really cheap ones that may be enough for you.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It was about 80pence cheaper when I ordered it yesterday. I get almost everything from Amazon because I hate shopping and things I want are hardly ever in stock!

    I've been reading a bit on the peptides. It does seem like they would be good for scarring, and they are best used after rolling. I think I'll give a Vit E cream a go for a month, then see how it goes.

    Me too! It's a process though. Falling in love requires trust - whether it's with another person, or with life itself. You've got to have faith that experience is good, and that you can make it so.

    Feel absolutely knackered today. My whole body aches... I think I've been working out too much! I even missed my weight lifting class this morning.

    Does anyone have any suggestions for how to get rid of a puffy face? Since I started working out I'm feeling like my face is getting swollen a lot.

    Foodwise, was hungry again today, but my appetite was erratic, which I also take as a positive sign. Had breakfast (halloumi cheese) at 5am, then didnt eat again til 3.30pm (steak, cherries, one nectarine, cottage cheese, maple syrup). Then a few hours later had prawns, calamari and mussels. With coconut water, and a galia melon later, probably came to 2,100 cals.

    Also, have an update on the yoga guy. He asked me to meet him for a chat today. Turns out that he's not "just out of a relationship" - he's IN a relationship! He said that when he met me they were on the rocks, and once me and him met up, and he saw that it would inevitably go in a romantic direction, he broke up with her. Then, between our second and third date, she begged him to take her back, promised she'd change (whatever that means), and they got back together after we met up the last time.

    He wanted to know if we could keep hanging out but I said no. It's not appropriate for two people who are attracted to each other and get on really well to spend time together when one of them is in a relationship... there's only a few potential outcomes (cheating or immense frustration), and neither of those are attractive options to me.

    So I told him I'll still see him at the yoga studio, but that's it.

    Are you eating too much sodium? I didn't think so, but thought to ask.

    Ugh, that sucks. This is exactly why I had always taken everything I've been told at the beginning of a relationship with a huge grain of salt (i got salt on the brain today, looks like) .
    You did exactly the right thing! Who needs that kind of added stress in their life? Especially you now, that you seem to be in a good place mentally. Good going
