    Caveman Fuel Coffee Creamer???

    Hi Everyone - a friend sent me a link for this and said that it was really good. I'm confused though, there are corn syrup solids in it, and it says it is Paleo?

    I'm currently using pastured heavy cream in my coffee, and I love it. I'm trying to decrease fatty deposits in my liver, and wondering if a little less cream might help in that department. I thought this might be something to try, until I read the ingredients... Thoughts?

    They promote a paleo diet on the site, but they don't say that their creamer is paleo.

    Without being able to see exactly what's in it, I wouldn't eat it. I think I can read "natural flavors" on the package, which makes it too vague for my liking.

    I would personally not use it unless I wanted something sweet and refined sugar didn't give me the problems that it does.

    Coconut milk makes a great coffee creamer, just don't go too heavy on it if you're not used to it (can make you gassy or cause diarrhea!).

    There is a big red graphic on the front of the bag that says "Paleo Compliant" - that is where I got the idea they say it's paleo. The corn syrup solids described in it just really threw me for a loop.

    I put coconut milk in my coffee. It takes a bit of getting used to, but I prefer it now. You can also blend it with dates and strain it to make a sweeter creamer.

    Butterfat is a good fat. I seriously doubt that substituting another fat for the fat in the cream in your coffee is going to get rid of fatty deposits in your liver, and I doubt they were caused by that coffee cream.

    If you're using cream now, just keep using cream, seriously. If you feel you should be using less then use a little less, or switch to half and half. Whatever the ingredients in this 'creamer' are, they're less natural than that cream.

    Stick to HWC from pastured cows - or better yet, give unsalted butter a try. Coconut oil is also a great addition to any cup of coffee

    +1 except I use pastured half and half instead of HWC. But I rotate all three of those depending on my mood in the morning. My afternoon cup is almost always the coconut oil now because it's almost like dessert.

    Because I used a non-dairy creamer before primal, I'm kind of burned out on the word 'creamer.' Why use the er when I can just use the cream?

    Paleo does not include dairy. Primal does, though. The fact that they say they're paleo and are trying to sell coffee creamer should tell you something right away.

    Thanks, everyone for the great responses. I am a cream kind of girl, never have liked creamers, so your advice is easy to follow! I haven't been able to find pastured half and half, just the heavy cream, but it's what I really prefer, anyway. I have used coconut milk in lattes, specifically pumpkin lattes, and it was amazing. Like someone else said, it was dessert-like! I prefer the regular cream in the morning, just strong coffee and cream. So if there is no reason to discontinue that, I'll just keep on with it. The whole corn syrup solids being "paleo" just really confused the heck out of me. I consider my eating style to be primal, but I wouldn't call corn syrup solids (whatever they are???) primal, either. Thanks again, all!
