Cierra, have you ever tried body brushing? I started doing it about two weeks ago. I've noticed a marked improvement in my BMs but I didn't equate it with the body brushing cos' this wasn't a projected outcome. But now, in the context of what Derp is saying about constipation being caused by bad circulation, it makes sense. My circulation is generally terrible... And I havent changed anything else about my diet or lifestyle.

My digestion only improved when I ate more starch (sweet potatoes, small one/red potatoes), and adjusted my fat and protein amounts.

That, actually, would probably help! Doctors have said that my issues stem partly anxiety, which causes me to hold my breath... Which causes bad circulation. I do relaxation techniques to help me breathe, and that sounds like a great idea. Does the dry brushing irritate your skin at all?

Ha - I have the same breath-holding tendency! I only noticed it when I first started doing yoga and I would hold my breath in the asanas...

The brushing doesn't hurt at all, but it's recommended that you use natural fibres (I use boar bristle and cactus). Anyway you can control how hard you brush - your skin shouldn't go red, but pink is okay.

I've also started jumping on a rebounder - I discovered that the playground beside my house has one! Also meant to be great for circulation.

How's the giving up bread going these days?

Yes, I notice that I hold my breath during every task that requires a lot of concentration... Which is a lot of stuff! I'll definitely look into getting a natural dry brush. I already have one I use in the shower.

As far as my bread (and grain) absitenence go-- I have come a long way and haven't eaten any bread products since mid February, so about a month! Even on my anniversary with my bf last week, where we went to a steak house that serves delicious table bread, I didnt even have a single bite! As I prepare breads and pastas for my bf's meals these days, they are certainly becoming less appealing. Baguettes and rolls have a styrofoam-y feel to me now, and my once beloved sugary cereals are starting to equate with dog and cat food (bachelor chow, anyone?) I never thought I'd be able to turn down some of the things that are beginning to not even seem appetizing any more!

    Hi Yogabare

Thank you so much for those articles on lymphatic congestion and dry skin brushing.

Really really interesting....I am going to try it to get rid of the last of my cellulite (which is still there like dimpled blubber on my behind). If I get added health benefits from doing it as well all the better !!

off to do more reading on the internet.

    Kind regards

    Elizabeth

Glad to hear! I've just recently started, but I've definitely noticed that my skin isn't as dry. My lips were perpetually chapped, and since starting to brush they haven't bled or shed once (this was a perpetual problem since the age of 10!!).

    And it feels great

Not necissarily my bm, but the bloating and has have dramatically decreased! I used to be like a balloon at night and I'd have to lay on my back. I remember some nights, the gas was so painful that Id want to cry. Now, there is only very minor bloating, and my stomach makes funny noises at night, but that's way better than before!

Yesterday I made my first bone broth, too, out of chicken necks. I drank it last night and it was delicious! The only thing was that it wasn't very gelatinous when I chilled it, even though I cooked it for 20 hours... I'm not too worried about it though because I still feel that it had a bunch of goodness cooked in there since it was so flavorful! I only added garlic, rosemary and salt in the cooking process and tossed a little tumeric into my cup of broth after heating it up.
