I guess you missed my link above where the FDA went after a Diamond nuts for claiming their walnuts were healthy?
Here you go, right from the FDA website.

This will never happen in the US! Businesses are still, fairly successfuly, arguing that they have an absolute right to advertise to children.
As for Mark taking down this site, unless the server is in their jurisdiction, he can tell them to eff off. As for whether the Dutch government will censor the site so that people in the Neatherlands can't see it...well, Gadsie, you'd probably know more about wether that would happen than I do.
I can see why you're upset about this, though, if they're going to use it for censorship. I mean are they going to go into libraries and burn books that have claims that aren't scientifically proven too?
If it's just about packaged foods though, then I don't think it'll do a lot of harm.

Maybe Diamond should start selling its nuts as a supplement. Apparently that's pretty wide open as long as this disclaimer appears on the label or description:
These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA. These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Isn't that law kind of like the people who tried to sue oreo and Mcdonalds for making them fat? It won't fly.

I once signed a petition through a health food store - legislators had this brilliant idea that no herb could be sold as a supplement unless it had a formal, full-blown study done on it, a la new Big Pharm drugs - not even the ancient ones that have been used since time immemorial. It went nowhere. The legislation idea, that is.
Hey Gadsie - good for you for watching out for stuff like this. I wish more kids would take the time to look up from the electronics to care. You would make a good American, I think!(meant playfully)
I have a mantra that I have spouted for years... "If I eat right, I feel right. If I feel right, I exercise right. If I exercise right, I think right. If I think right, I eat right..." Phil-SC
