Your question should be whether it matters. It doesn't.
Not that I care or not if he does it but hes the aggressor on this one. He's argued that Red Meat is acidic and bad for you. I argued that grass fed vs grain fed full of hormoes and antiabotics is night and day. My question is is grass fed beef less acidic then grain fed beef?

My stomach's more acidic :P
on a more serious note:

If your stomach isn't far more acidic than the steak you shovel into it, you have hypochlorydria and should see a healthcare provider. Your bloodstream (which isn't your stomach) needs to maintain acidity within a very narrow range. Fortunately, you have a sophisticated buffering system that can do this for you, and you don't need to adjust the pH of your diet.
I see your link and I call:
Red Meat: It Does a Body Good!
Did you actually read my link? It's in support of meat - grass fed organic meat, that is :P
Your co-worker is wrong. The acidity of the meat matters not at all, because your body isn't one single PH. Your stomach is much more acidic (PH1) than the meat you're consuming. Then your actual digestion takes place in the small intestine, which is slightly alkaline (PH8).
He's repeating a vegan myth about meat. Ask him if he thinks that meat putrefies in the colon.
Your counter-arguement is irrelevant to his original point about acidity.

You can't even use that study to claim CAFCO meat is bad for you. Questionnaire based epidemiological studies chock full of confounding variables and correlations without demonstrating causation are worthless no matter which side of the red meat argument you're on. There is plenty of other evidence showing the nutritional superiority of meat from animals raised on their natural diets vs those that aren't. Don't base a sound argument on a bad study!
