    Looking for paleo frosting help

    Shop Now
    Hello,

A family birthday is coming up soon and I want to make an alternative to the cake that everyone else will be eating. In general I don't agree with replacing SAD sweets with paleo sweets, but I'm making an exception for my grandfather's 88th birthday! I need help with the frosting! I'm looking for something that:

    - uses either coconut milk or cream cheese (or both) as the base (rather than coconut or other shortening).
    - can be frozen after icing the cake and won't turn inedible
    - uses minimal sweetener
    - is white (not chocolate or other flavors... so my cake looks like everyone else's cake!)

    Thank you for your help!

PS For the cake I was thinking of using this recipe (Paleo Chocolate Birthday Cake)

    2/3 cup coconut flour
1/2 cup high quality cacao powder
    1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    1/2 teaspoon celtic sea salt
    6 eggs
1/2 cup coconut oil (butter or ghee), melted (more for greasing pans) [I plan on using butter]
3/4 cup maple syrup [I plan to reduce this amount]
1/2 cup brewed coffee (or water)
    1 tablespoon vanilla extract
parchment paper for lining cake pans

Thanks so much for the suggestions!
I also found this: your ultimate guide to coconut cream frosting (dairy free, gluten free, paleo) | bellatrix nutrition which is awesome.

Simple: whipped cream cheese with bit of honey or stevia. maybe some vanilla extract also.

Blend: butter, sweetener of choice, flavouring of choice. Butter-icing. Fab stuff.

Perfection is entirely individual. Any philosophy or pursuit that encourages individuality has merit in that it frees people. Any that encourages shackles only has merit in that it shows you how wrong and desperate the human mind can get in its pursuit of truth.
