    Thanks Ayla for this thread. Brave of you to put your numbers out there.

    My budget is $NZ200 pw and has been for five years. It used to feed five, then four, then three, then I went primal, now back up to four people and occasionally five and amazingly I am finding it still stretches.

    $200/week for all meals for 2.5 people. Plus one out to dinner meal at the microbrewery that runs about $70 on average.

    We have 4 to feed, 2 are young children.
    We would love to live on a farm and grow everything incl animals to eat. One day
    Def want to add in offal and will start doing that into stews etc once it gets colder

    oh, were your numbers in aus$? whats the conversion rate nowadays, whats that in USD.

    Works better as chilli for nachos or spaghetti squash.

    Very close to equal at the moment.
    Google tells me $800 aud is $783 USD.

    We can't get spaghetti squash here, I wish we could.

    I did just get a slow cooker paleo cookbook, so plan on trying most of the recipes if not all eventually.

    Oven baked sweet potatoes.

    Slice 'em thin, leave 'em to bake for about 10-20 mins, serve under a mound of minced organ meat. OM NOMNOM.

    ooh yes that is a great idea. I think my family would love that.
    What do you use in your mince? I have used this Caveman Food: Taco Salad and Homemade Taco Seasoning before and just served it on lettuce, with salsa and guacamole, and they loved it.
