Thanks Ayla for this thread. Brave of you to put your numbers out there.

My budget is $NZ200 pw and has been for five years. It used to feed five, then four, then three, then I went primal, now back up to four people and occasionally five and amazingly I am finding it still stretches.

$200/week for all meals for 2.5 people. Plus one out to dinner meal at the microbrewery that runs about $70 on average.

Works better as chilli for nachos or spaghetti squash.

    Nachos?
What do you use as chips?
We can't get spaghetti squash here, I wish we could.

I did just get a slow cooker paleo cookbook, so plan on trying most of the recipes if not all eventually.

    Oven baked sweet potatoes.

Slice 'em thin, leave 'em to bake for about 10-20 mins, serve under a mound of minced organ meat. OM NOMNOM.

ooh yes that is a great idea. I think my family would love that.
What do you use in your mince? I have used this Caveman Food: Taco Salad and Homemade Taco Seasoning before and just served it on lettuce, with salsa and guacamole, and they loved it.
