what do you want to know?

mainly, how varying carb intake affects your ability to use and adapt to ketones . The author makes it seem like very few people have done this successfully. I also couldn't quite understand his explanation of the underlying biological mechanisms and ultimately if zero-carb is actually necessary to fully keto-adapt.

Go to eatingacademy.com, or read The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Living as a start.
Zero carb is not necessary (in fact it's almost impossible to achieve) but we differ in our carb levels. Somewhere between 20 and 50 gm/day will allow most people to ketoadapt. It takes 2-3 weeks to adapt, or more for some people. And many people need to add salt to their diet during the adaptation.
there is a group of people who think low carb is bad for you but I just don't think it's true. I think that is "conventional wisdom."
