As for the salads, I do agree that it's good to eat raw foods for at least part of our diet. The solution I have found to this which works really well for my husband (not exactly primal) and I is to make chopped salads in my food processor. I'm going to post directions in the recipe section soon. I can eat so many more fresh, raw vegetables this way. And you can basically make the salad and dressing at the same time. My husband really likes not having to chew huge pieces of spinach or lettuce. I still enjoy cooked greens almost daily but I also do the salad thing almost daily also for a good combination of the two.

I don't even eat salads. Hate them. Can't stand them. I love my vegetables but not in a salad.

I dont' stand very long because it makes me light-headed. I do drink plenty of water, but still, if I have to stand more than a few minutes, I start to get dizzy.

I can't find the article now, but I remember reading about how standing for most of the day increases the diameter of arteries to the point where even if a lot of plaque develops, it won't block the arteries because of how plain huge they are. Thankfully, I'm a full-time phlebotomist and I get to stand and push a cart around all night for ten hour shifts, so I get my slow movement and standing in easily. But, as stated above, PB is designed to turn the 350-pound McDonald's addict away from an early grave and set toward better health.

Having your own ideas and being your own guru are both encouraged. You have not broken ranks, you've thought for yourself. The salad thing is mainly a lure to get lazy CW dieters to take this WOE seriously. Several of us are almost solid carnivores, or eat as such for long stretches at a time. Do what works, find science that both supports and discredits your ideas, and live well in the mean time. Do what works for you. Don't feel obligated to follow anyone. They are not you!

I think there's a difference between moving around in a standing position and standing still in one position. A mix of moving, sitting, and standing is probably best.

The BAS isn't my thing. The only salad I absolutely love is a traditional Caesar's Salad. But until I find a primal crouton I like, those are on the back burner. Sauteed veggies, or greens cooked inside a burger or stir fry are lovely, but all that cold crunchy stuff never did it for me.

As to the abs, I kind of look at M&F as gentle porn. Those guys are fun to look at, but really, men who spend that much time on their appearance whether at a gym or on hair product sort of come off as girly-men to me. JMO, but guys in glasses from too much reading are the bigger turn on.

As I guy, that's kinda how I see it. I don't aspire to have 6% body fat or to even be cut. I'd like my stomach not to stick out further than my chest. I'd like to not have man-boobs. I'd like to be healthy, active and mobile.

And I want to do this while still having time to pursue stuff (currently, Jungian psychology, Marxian economics) that interests me.
