    I've Derailed!

    Shop Now
    Hi all,
Tonight was my son's 15th birthday and I decided to have a hunk of ice cream cake. It is the first bunch of refine sugar I have had in about 3 weeks.
I guess what made this devious mistake so easy is that I am feeling a bit down on my progress. I feel like I am doing Grok proud, have not done much on the scale.

Regardless, I feel like dirt right now. Naturally doubt is setting in or maybe it was prior to the birthday cake?

I'm just not seeing the results I had hoped for. Maybe I am doing it wrong? Eating the wrong foods? Eating too little?

Sorry for sounding off. Maybe just throwing my self a pity party. I have every intention of being primal when the sun comes up

    Thanks all.
Get busy Groking or get busy dying. That's damn right!

Yup just get back on the horse with your next meal. Don't even consider it a transgression or cheat of any sort. Dont sweat it. You ate cake... call it part of your 20% and move on.

Cake happens. Go back to primal and don't worry a thing about it. In all likelihood, you and I and 95% of the people here will eat cake or a cookie or ice cream or pizza at some point. The key is getting right back on the wagon. 3 weeks without sugar is awesome. LOL, I used to not go 3 hours without a sugar fix.
Think about it- you had ONE sugary food in 21 days. 1/21 of your days had sugar in it.... versus probably daily before. That's a huge improvement.

Yep, as the previous comment said - cake happens! Just move on. No biggie!

On Sunday my dinner consisted of x-brand cheese balls, two small black-and-white cookies, and abundant buffalo chicken dip with tortilla chips. I didn't consider myself a failure for it!

Cake happens. I think that little slogan just saved me tonight. Thanks so much, guys. My wife saw me derailing and told me to go brush my teeth right away. She was right, totally stopped a building sugar binge in its tracks.

Regarding what I am viewing as a lack of progress, is it possible I am eating too little?

Looks like I'm averaging about 1900 calories daily.

Eating too little and not losing....is that even possible for someone who has a 40% body fat?

    Dust off and move on,

One thing to remember the sugar buzz is genetic in just about everyone, will never leave you, just gotta slap the little devil on your shoulder now and then to shut him up otherwise he'll talk you into it.

I had ice cream cake at my daughter's birthday party, and it was AWESOME! But, yeah, it was just one piece, just one day, and I'm not going to sweat it.

What are you eating in a day? What's an average day in the life? Maybe the folks here can help troubleshoot what you're eating.

I can do more damage in an hour than just a piece of cake. It's your son's birthday, celebrate it and move on.

As for not losing, how much do you weigh and what are your macros? How are you tracking? Are you eyeballing food portions instead of measuring? Are you active?
