Tried that, no freebies there, seems fish stock is popular, charging about 1/3 price/kg just for heads.

    OT I guess

I havent researched this yet, but I will - but asking here anyways. How does pond fish stack up? I stocked my pond last spring with some crappie, perch, and hmmm somthing else. Oh hybrid bluegill. Have yet to eat one.

We use to eat pond fish all the time growing up and in my early married years. Bluegill, perch, bass, crappie, catfish mostly.

gopintos, I would check them out on google, but off the top of my pointy little head, most unpolluted fish is going to be good for you and be a good source of protein and often various B vitamins. For the O3, not all fish are created equal. Salmon, sardines, grass fed beef (those are 4legged fish), halibut, some types of trout, and mackerel stand out in my synapsis from what I've read, are the good ones for O3. But I may be remembering the ones I know I have access to.

Who says back fat is a bad thing? Maybe on a hairy guy at the beach, but not on a crab.

Omni, almost missed your post. I figured they wouldn't be free. Depending on the price, I'd just continue freezing the bones and the drippings/fat at the bottom of the pan 'til I had enough to turn it into broth. The heads would be fun to work with, though.

I love vital choice canned salmon.. Even got no-fishy DH to try it and now he brags on himself for being an adult and trying new foods. They have awesome scallops, too.. Actually all of their products are superior.. expensive, but worth it to us.
