Surely that would only happen though if they were still eating crap?
I am not.
I still don't what I will do.

Ayla--I generally stay around 30 to 40 a day, sometimes less and manage without medication. I basically eat low carb primal. Meat & vegatables. I'm about a year in to the diagnosis so I stay away from fruit for the most part. Minimal dairy. You would want to do what diabetics call eating to your meter to determine what level of carbs you can tolerate as well as what type carbs.
We'll see how things come out with your other tests and A1C. It's very scary but you can manage it. Your risk of those complications is generally directly connected to your control. Just understand that the complications are both common and dire if you don't control it and you will find all the motivation you need. If it turns out you are diabetic, you can avoid all that by focusing on keeping in a normal blood sugar range all the time. It's doable. I never venture into the high zone and generally stay under 100. Not sure how that equates to the non US range but it's normal. Usually wake up in high 70's, low 80's.
There are a lot of resources out there but in your case, sounds like waiting to see how things turn out with your tests before getting too caught up in things. You may end up worrying yourself for nothing.

OK so Dr still says Diabetes. I have not decided about taking the meds as yet. But these are the results from the other day:
Total Chol 4.7 mmol/L
HDL 1.7 mmol/L (>1.0)
LDL 2.5 (this is highlighted) (>2.5) mmol/L
Triglyceride 1.2 mmol/L (<1.5)
LDL/HDL Ratio 1.5
Chol/HDL Ratio 2.8
Underneath it says: LDL exceeds the target for high risk patients. Diabetes noted.
There is a whole list of general chemistry, all showing normal.
Fasting glucose 7.7 mmol/L (3.0-5.4 mmol/L)
But my HbA1C - (DCCT) 5.2 % (IFCC) 33 mmol/L
This was in the normal ranges, and the Dr could not explain this, but due to the insulin level which was 150 last week, and 127 mu/L this week, he still says diabetes.
Isn't it true that people who eat low-carb will have high fasting BG but normal or low HbA1C? They usually recommend eating 150g carbs/day 3 days prior to testing fasting BG to get a normal reading.

borofergie is diabetic and has many good posts there...
Good one. Right now my task is fitting PB and Dr B together and I am getting there. I also checked out the link you provided and found that borofergie has a blog/forum that looks promising.
