I actually like white pepper better than black pepper. It has a milder taste, but more heat - as in hot spicy, so it could substitute for cayenne I think. Also in place of curry I think turmeric could work, in addition to other safe spices.
canned pumpkin can work in some recipes. Also chimichurri sauces, relishes, and pickled onions or veggies can make great condiments.
The tamarind is a great idea - I may try that one
