As you have now added a sarc tag it reads differently. Well done.
I will take this as an apology.

You can if you wish... if that blows air up your skirt. It was clarification, not appology.

Im not appologizing for anything on MY journal, if you don't like dont read it. I occasionaly get sever back spasms as a result of being in the infantry and being forced to carry excesively heavy loads around on my shoulders for literally years of my life; nearly a decade actually. I find that flexoril works better when taken with some alcohol and having a some medical training I am completely aware of the dangers of this combination. I will say however, that its not like Im pounding 100 miligrams of oxycontin with a fifth of jack daniels. A flexoril - which is a muscle relaxer not a pain killer and one you can buy over the counter in many countries other than America - and a few glasses of wine on a friday taken to treat a muscle spasm and when I don't have to wake up and go to work in the morning isn't going to kill me, only let me sleep for awhile and not be in pain and maybe be a tad groggy the next day. I can appreciate the battle I am sure you went through, prescription narcotics are some of the most highly addictive drugs known to man, and I commend you for quitting but I dont feel the need to be judged - nor does anyone else posting on MY journal - because I personally choose to have a muscle relaxer with some wine. Oh, additionally, if you think doctors set the example as far as appropriate uses for prescription drugs you may want to fact check.

    Now for today;

Missed breakfast because I had to escort a patient to the hospital for hernia surgery - I did not steal his percocet to have with alcohol later this week.

L: Some form of chicken in a cream sauce, nutrtion card said 325 caloris and 27 grams of protein. Steamed broccoli and carrots, typical raw veggie combo but no spinach available and 1.5 slices of cantilope.
S: Stuck in the hosptital so options limited; resulted to having some kind of protein bar with about 20 grams of sugar. This place didn't even sell nuts. Black coffee
D: By the time I got done at the gym literally every place on base with a healthy food option was closed, even the PX. So I killed the rest of my whey protein - about 2.5 scoops - with an orange and a serving of pistachios. Not the healthies but better than the alternative deep fried "food" at the one base snack bar.

    WOD:
2 - sets 225/5 deadlift - I use the lighter weight with and overhand grip to develope forearm strength, when I can't grip, I switch grips and up the weight.
    3 - sets 275/5 deadlift
5 - sets 90 pound dumbell bench/5-6 reps superset with 55 pound goblet squats/10 reps
5 - sets 110 pound sumo deadlift highpull.

I am now sadly completely wired from working out and really need to get to sleep, I have a 0415 wakeup tomorrow. Still planning on PT'ing when I get home.

    Thank you
Yes I am aware of many Dr's who's struggle with addiction and many nurses.
The co founder of AA was a Dr
I was in the Royal Artillery here in UK and the Met Police in London and retired after a neck injury after being injured on duty.
I became addicted to codeine after being prescribed it for my injury.
Also Amitryptiline which is closely related to flexoril.
Whatever you say I think it is a sad indictment on your profession that you are publicly condoning the mixing of prescription medication as a Dr when this contra indicated on the medication instructions.
I wonder what your medical board would say about your use of medications and alcohol.
Google Backnobber II I use when when my back goes into spasm.
    Try yoga and stretching
    Surgeon heal thyself
You take care and have a good day clean and sober :-)

Again, not a doctor, but a vast majority of doctors I know - and I know more than a few - would more than likely recomend the aformentioned combination before they demonize it. MY actions don't condone anything, I didn't take a picture of myself, and put it on a bilboard that said "Take muscle relaxers with alcohol. . .NOW!" I do appreciate the recomendation for that Backnobber contraption and I'll think about getting one. I enjoy yoga but don't really have privacy to enjoy it right now, might be a reason why I have back spasms. I do appreciate the recomendation and I honestly appreciate you general concern, thank you.

    Moving on now,

B: Scrambled eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, jalepenos, bell peppers ham and cheese. Two sausage links, a serving of honeydew melon and half a grapefruit with black coffee.
L: 1.3 polish sausage, saurkraut and a medium plate of mixed veggies like bell pepper, cherry tomatoes, broccoli and some carrots, more coffee.
D: Sad departure from otherwise good day. Stuck in a car with people getting take out on the way home from a ranking board for Sailor evaluations. CoCo's Japanese curry is one of the greatest things on earth. I did get the smallest serving of rice though and honestly felt much more satisfied than my previous fat fests at CoCo's that resulted in a 400 gram serving of the hottest ass curry I can eat. I don't feel so guilty I will loose sleep over it or feel depressed so it probably isnt that bad consider how little carbs I ate all day.

    WOD:

Workout after spicy curry on four hours of sleep? Pure madness, not happening.

    - Planning on hitting the sack early tonight to get up and get some in the AM, only 7 o'clock here so I should be good for an early am workout.

    Short and sweet, 13 hour work day and headed for another tomorrow, stupid eval season;

B: Scrambled eggs, sausage, canned pears (not in syrup), half a grape fruit and a small serving of potatoes
L: Mongolian BBQ with cabbage, bac choy, a little pineapple, tomatoes, onions and sprouts. A small cup of shrimp bisque soup.
D: Leftover mongolian, some pistachios, a few mini-pickles and some strawberries. Nothing serious, everything on base is closed.

TODAY I did however invest in some groceries and an electric skillet so I can make some small meals in my room. Got some frozen veggies, a few steaks, some thick cut pork chop and some "fish on friday" snacks like sardines and tuna. Tomorrow is a fasting day until the evening and ill break it with some sashimi with a friend of mine.

That sounds like a great plan.... puts you in more control of what you are eating...

Yea it will be awesome starting tomorrow. I have been in E5 eval ranking and editing board all week and worked about 40 hours in 3 days. Today was a bust. Did my planned fast and even avoided free dunken donuts until about 1600 when it immediately became apparent that dinner at any kind of normal time wasnt going to happe - we wern't even done editing yet - and the guys ordered some pizza. I didn't do to bad, three smallish slices and two non-breaded wings and I am really not planning on eating the rest of the night because my stomach is not happy with me. Plus, I'm exhausted, pretty mentally fried and am about to crash out.

BAMCIS! LOVE MY SKILLET! Made some pork chops and a "not from the chow hall" REAL steak! Holy crap I forgot how good real meat tastes! Here goes:

B: Small kine omlette with ham, cheese (really need to recommit to no dairy or at least cheese after reading Mark's last thing about pre-shredded cheese), mushrooms, tomatoes and onions. Two strips of bacon, a bowl of cottage cheese (I eat this on weekends when I know I am only getting two meals), a grapefruit and a small bowl of raw broccoli, tomatoes and carrots.
    L: NIL! Fast.
D: STEAK! A REAL STEAK seared in coconut oil! Half a pork chop, bunch of "steam fresh" broccoli.

    WOD:

    Deadlifts:
    1- 235x5 reps
    2- 245x5 reps
    3- 285x5 reps
    4- 315x5 reps

Unilateral, dumbbell, squat thrusters (killer excercies if you've never done it, really hits your whole body)
    1- 50x5
    2- 55x5
    3- 60x5
    4- 65x5

12 tire flips with a MATV tire (bigger than a 7 ton tire)
10 minutes on the heavy bag

GREAT DAY TODAY! Despite having to get up at the crack of dawn to go to an accountability formation for absolutely no reason I still ate clean, got a great workout in - my lats are pretty stoked - and I GOT TO COOK MY OWN FOOD for the first time in about two months; all in all a great day and looking for a repeat tomorrow!
