I plan to give up diet soda. I also plan to add something positive by doing rosary daily.

Nope, not giving anything up... maybe this forum... I waste too much time reading posts when I could be doing something productive...

I don't believe in 'giving up' because the focus of my eating/drinking is health and making positive choices. So for Lent, my goal is to be 100%--to make choices consistent with my personal goals.

In that process, I may be 'giving up' a lot of tempting things [that I may not even be aware of right now], and IMO isolating one or two of them to 'give up' is far less productive for me.

Alcohol for me. I'm not Catholic but I am Christian and I like the concept behind Lent.

Potatoes and more than one piece of fruit per day. This was something I needed to do for awhile anyway, because both of those things get in the way of my weight loss (which is currently stalled), and Lent seemed like the perfect opportunity. I'm also fasting from dinner last night until breakfast tomorrow.

Not giving up just for the sake of giving up. Can't see any reason.
