I like the idea behind this message; just realize that it doesn't work for some people. IF you find that fruit feeds sugar cravings instead of quelling them, you may need a different strategy. I always recommend trying what Choco has recommended here as a first tactic, especially in pregnancy. If you don't have an imbalance that leads to irrational carb cravings, fruit will take care of sugar cravings nicely, and sweet potatoes/potatoes/squashes/etc. will take care of starch cravings well.

Right now, and for the last 15 years, fruit makes me have uncontrollable cravings for all kinds of sugar & grains, and will not allow me to have a moment's peace without thoughts of more food, no matter how little or how much I eat of it. However, fruit is ALWAYS better than processed sugars; potatoes are ALWAYS better than wheat; etc.
I also agree that if you have a free T3 that is low in the range, that it would be wise to address that and get it stable before conceiving.
