    Question New to This...

    Primal Fuel
    Hello!
    I am one of a previously, highly-processed diet. I was reared on Hamburger Helper and my dinner of choice was Chinese take-out and Doritos. After reading about paleo/primal eating, I wanted to give it a 30-day trial run. I am 2.5 weeks in, and I have considerably more energy; however, I'm not seeing some of the other results I would have liked. I lost some weight the very first week, but then gained in the second and have stayed the same since. In the past two days, I am also slightly constipated (which was NOT an issue for me in the past). Are these changes normal? Are there certain things I should be eating more of? I will admit... I still make stovetop-popped popcorn pretty regularly. Could that one grain be derailing my progress?? Just curious! Any help is much welcomed---totally new to this.

    Age, Sex, Height, Weight, a few days worth of food journals...

    It is hard to give advice if we don't know if you are 15 or 50, 5'2 or 7'1", are 50 pounds overweight or 20 pounds under, and whether you eat 7,000 calories a day or 1,200.

    It's doubtful that one little food like popcorn is derailing your progress. Also, you've only been at this for a few weeks - give it time! There are some side-effects that can happen to folks in the first few weeks after making the transition.

    Have you read the PB book? Mark's blog posts about the basics?

    Female, 24, 5'6", 160lbs

    This week, my meals have consisted of slight variations of the following:
    Breakfast--veggie/egg scramble with hot sauce and blueberries
    Lunch--Beef/Bacon hamburger patty with pineapple slices
    Snack--Orange or Almonds (sometimes both)
    Dinner--Sweet Potato pizza with sausage and veggies

    *Popcorn?

    I also have read many articles/blogs/other things published on this site and others. Another difference I'm noticing is increased acne... I have never struggled with bad acne, but my face broke out horribly this week.

    Can't tell without quantities but it looks like you are getting way too many carbs, especially sugar.

    If you're trying to lose weight you may want to avoid the sweet potato,the orange and the pineapple for a while and go easy on the nuts.

    That is what I was suspecting. It still feels so healthy to me, considering what my diet consisted of in the past. However, I was wondering if it still wasn't matching the nutrients my body needs. I appreciate the feedback.
