youtube is a great resource, try looking up 'how to stretch' videos on there but apply my gentle, relaxed, regular breathing technique

To re-iterate the plan I recommend for Val:

    1. Start with stretching every day for 4 to six weeks. You will need to keep this going long term but we are going to add more

    2. When you have gotten used to stretching and are enjoying the sensation of stretching tissue, it will be time to start rolling.

    3. Continue to stretch and roll every day for about a month.

    4. So 8 to 10 weeks in you should now introduce a strength training session once a week in addition to the stretching and rolling. We will get on to discussing the strength training nearer the time.

For now focus on removing adhesions and increasing flexibility using the stretching/rolling schedule. Building up slowly to around 30 mins per day.

And stay strictly on the diet as that is important to heal

Promise you will feel MUCH better if you can manage to do this plan. That in itself is difficult I know which is why we build up from 10 mins stretching a day to the full plan over a few weeks/months

Great advice, KR. And with that, I think I'll drop onto the floor and send some time with my foam roller.

Here is a link on stretching for ME and CFS (cousins to fibro). Made me think of KR since the guy is British.

I did some of them as well as hamstring stretches after going to the pool. I swam very gently and slowly there. Am now tired which is a little frustrating. I did have a pt today and hit the farmers market, TJ's and publix as well as Michael's (a crafts store) to pick up stuff for school so I have been busy. Still...oh well. Hopefully I will sleep good tonight and tomorrow all I have to do is some house chores and ppwrk.

    Thanks again KR!

perfect! This is exactly what you want to do.

The whole program I recommend takes about a year and you should end up extremely fit, flexible and strong which will help you heal. Combined with the food, good sleep, doing things that make you feel happy and staying positive

I hope you are quite happy for me to provide advice, after all I'm just some guy on a forum but I hope you can tell that :

    1) I know what I'm talking about

    and

    2) I really care about your well being even though I do not know you personally
