Maybe if the poster used the anachronism followed by the complete words the first time in the sentence, they would be able to use just the letters in the remainder of the post.

That's actually standard practice in the Army, unless you're writing to someone who should already know the meaning of the acronym.

POAS is common lingo on BBC (Babycenter)...they LOOOOOOVE their short hand their too (DH, DD, DS, ODD, TWW, TTC, POAS, MIL, DWIL) Never thought I would see POAS outside that forum...Apparently people like peeing on sticks, here and there
