i have nothing to add of much substance but you can't say:
"i had a pizza" and then say "[i had] no wheat"
they are mutually exclusive
Hi all, I have been primal for probably 3 months with a 4 day cheat fest over xmas. New year as a non-event, but 4 days over xmas I drank champagne, ate milk chocolate and had a pizza.
no wheat, but other crap.
Anyway, so still, after all this time, I feel tired.
no, come to think of it, no, I have been tired for the last month or so.
I feel so tired that I need to nap in the afternoon.
I have 4 kids, including 2 year old twins and we have an organic shop. So I know I am busy, and it's crazy, but i am MORE tired since eating this way, unless some crazy coincidence is happening.
I went to the doc today, and got the following tested:
thyroid antibodies, T3, T4,
epstein barr virus,
chronic fatigue whatever the virus is for that,
iron, all the usual stuff.
Is this to be expected?
I'm at about 50g carbs per day I think...
thanks in advance.

Maybe try increasing your fat intake?
nah it was a gluten free pizza baseSo processed, but certainly not wheat, and only one small mini base. Really I was tame, except for the white alcohol. And when I say milk choc, I mean like 100gm over the 4 days, not all day long.
no other cheats.
I feel like I am gorging on fat, I really do. But maybe more.
I never trim meat, I've been known to eat tablespoons of raw cream, I cook in bacon fat, I eat whole avocados with seaweed.
dunno. Maybe it's just my life. but if nothing is jumping out. then maybe I just need longer to adjust than some people because of the demands on my body in the last few years?
i carried twins for 40weeks and 3 days and their weights were 9lb 10 and 9lb 2.
I then breastfed these enormous lads for 2 years and 4 months. that's probably part of it.
got my results looked up from 2011 today and they were Ferretin 159 or something ridiculous, so it's unlikely that, but we've tested again today.
thanks for your replies though.
I'm just trying not to lose faith.

Running a business and 2 year old twins? That would do me in right there.![]()
Maybe 50 carbs is not enough for your active lifestyle. Is there a reason they are so low? Maybe try adding more carbs for a week and see if you feel better. If not, try the more fat thing.
Try lowering your fat and increasing your carbs to at least 100g/day. You sound fatigued and your body sounds like it has endured massive stress and continues to be stressed by forcing it into gluconeogenesis.
ok sorry for jumping to conclusions
Your fat 'gorging' doesn't sound extreme, if i have double (heavy) cream left over in my office fridge on friday afternoon i just drink it so it's not wasted, and other activities to that effect, i.e. i just bought pork skins to make crackling, literally to take to work as a snack
edit: not that i'#m saying more fat is the answer, just that i wouldn't class it as gorging, although i do know what you mean.
Last night i whipped some cream to eat because it would be more civil like that with a banana than just drinking it, ha ha!
I then followed it with a whole milk and double cream hot chocolate, man was i feeling a little queezy at bed time!

Sounds like there are other areas you can work on besides food. And it IS winter, prime time for seasonal affective disorder.
